AAA Foundation Pedestrian Safety Presentation

gbc530

On Wednesday, December 7, 2016 the American Automobile Association (AAA) Foundation hosted a Pedestrian Safety presentation for the children in the Head Start program at the Eastside location in Paterson, NJ. The presentation was given by Ryan Gabel, a representative from AAA, and the goal was to educate the children on how to be a safe and smart pedestrian. Ryan covered the basics of crossing the street, being a smart and safe pedestrian, and put an emphasis on being aware of your surroundings and always being sure that the children are crossing the streets with their parents or another adult. Also in attendance was Otto the Auto, who spoke with the children about the importance of pedestrian safety. A short video was played for the students that displayed the effects of not following safety pedestrian precautions and encouraged them to “see and be seen” when crossing the street at the crosswalk. The children were very receptive to the presentation and enjoyed Otto the Auto.

Check out our live video of Ryan, Otto the Auto and the Head Start students from the presentation!
