GBCA Head Start is partnering with City Green, Inc., a 501(c)3 urban farming and gardening organization working to revitalize urban areas through agriculture and educational programming. The partnership allows GBCA to enhance Head Start’s curriculum with nature-based educational experiences. This past month, City Green came to GBCA Paterson Head Start for a "Veggie Mobile" visit with the preschool children as part of its "Farm to Preschool" program. During the Veggie Mobile visit, our Head Start kids experienced an outdoor classroom, learned what a farmer's market is, learned about the farmer who produced the food, and they each got to purchase a "fresh and local" carrot grown at a local farm.
